Out of Patients EP402: Dancing Through the Wreckage: Sally Wolf

Sally Wolf is the kind of person who makes you question what it means to actually live.
She’s got all the things that usually impress LinkedIn: Harvard psych degree, two Stanford grad degrees, NBCUniversal pedigree, former corporate exec turned wellness advisor. Great. Now throw in stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, pole dancing on Netflix, and the ability to call bullshit on pink ribbon culture without flinching—and now you’ve got someone worth listening to.
I brought Sally on Out of Patients because she doesn’t talk in soundbites. She’s smart, self-aware, emotionally fluent, and deeply unafraid of truth. She’s survived what too many don’t. She’s also taken notes, named names, and left her dignity intact.
This episode hits everything from how post-treatment emotional crash gets ignored by the system, to the gaslighting of “good cancer,” to the wild absurdity of having your implants recalled by the FDA. She made me laugh. She made me uncomfortable. She made me think. And that’s the point.
Also: we debated if a goat is a threatening high school mascot, confessed our love for Michael J. Fox, and gave a shoutout to Jew camp. So there’s that.
